Richard Sherman on potential return to NFL: 'I’ve got a decade of character and tape to be judged off of'

Sherman said that he has 'a decade well worth of résumé that need to stand much more firmly than a short-term lapse in judgment'

Former All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman claims he prepares to return to the NFL.

In an interview with U.S.A. Today, Sherman claimed he has "a years worth of résumé that must stand a lot more securely than a temporary lapse in judgment."

Sherman was referencing his apprehension in July that brought about 5 offense charges.

"I've got a decade of personality and tape to be evaluated off of. If you're judging me off of a short-term gap, I'm probably not the gamer for you either way," Sherman said.

, Sherman was detained July 14 after he allegedly attempted to break into his in-laws' home after he was in an automobile mishap in a freeway building and construction area.

Sherman was also charged with driving intoxicated of alcohol, reckless endangerment of road employees, criminal trespassing, resisting apprehension and also destructive mischievousness. Two days after his apprehension, Sherman released a statement acknowledging that he needed help.

Sherman, a three-time All-Pro, starred in Seattle for the Seahawks from 2011-2017. He won the 2014 Super Dish as a crucial participant of the Seahawks protection and "Legion of Boom" defensive backfield.

After leaving the Seahawks, Sherman signed up with the San Francisco 49ers and played with them from 2018-2020.

ESPN reported today that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had an interest in acquiring Sherman.
